COVID Safety Protocols

In order to ensure the safety of the WashU and St. Louis community, please abide by the following public health guidelines while on campus.

  • Prior to visiting campus, please complete a visitor screening. Please do this each day before you arrive to campus. Many campus facilities, such as the dining halls and large event venues, will require proof of a screening before you can enter.
  • At this time, masking is strongly recommended in all indoor spaces on the Danforth Campus. Masking remains a valuable tool in the mitigation of COVID-19, particularly in light of new and emerging variants.

Parents as Partners Live-Stream

Parents as Partners, the session during Parent and Family Orientation hosted by the chancellor and vice chancellor for student affairs, will be live streamed. No Pre-Registration is needed.

The Dean’s Meetings sessions will not be live streamed and the recordings will be uploaded to the following week.

There are two move-in day options: Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20*. Your student should have selected their check-in time in early July. If they have not yet selected a check-in time yet, please have them do so ASAP. Students can view their self-selected check-in date and time through the housing portal on WebSTAC.

Move-In Day Procedures

  1. Please arrive during your student’s designated check-in time. We are not able to accommodate those who arrive early.
  2. Students will check in at Tisch Commons located on the main level of the Danforth University Center (DUC). Please remind your student to bring their government ID photo with them into the DUC. To ensure a smooth and spacious check-in process, we ask that only your student enter the DUC and any family members or guests stay in the car.
    1. The DUC is located at 6475 Forsyth Blvd, St. Louis, MO, 63105.
    2. During check-in, short term parking will be available in Zone 2 in Lot 35 (Simon Hall Lot).
  3. You will receive a parking placard at check-in. This must be placed in the dashboard of your vehicle.
  4. From check-in, you will be directed to an unloading location to move into your student’s residence hall.
    1. Please make sure your student’s belongings are packed in boxes, bags, or suitcases and labeled with:
      1. Student first and last name
      2. Buidling
      3. Room number
    1. Professional movers will assist your student
    2. You will then be directed to long-term parking.
    3. If you experience a travel delay and will arrive after 5:00 PM, please email Residential Life so we know you are still coming and can make alternate arrangements for you to pick up your key.

On your student’s move-in day, please adhere to your student’s assigned check-in time to assist us with the flow of traffic. Detailed information about move-in is available on the Residential Life website and Move-In Guide.

Students may bring an unlimited number of family members and helpers with them.

Free parking is available on campus through August 28. Families are encouraged to select the East End Garage for long-term parking during your visit. Long-term parking is not available on the South 40 (where first year residences are located) on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20.
