Welcome to my blog. I started reading blogs about 10 years ago. I may be a little late to the technology, but it seems like a great way to answer questions from students, parents, alums, and friends of Washington University.
Sometimes my posts may be more relevant to a particular group. I will probably also supplement my entries with posts from my colleagues here in the Career Center.
Feel free to email me questions you would like me to address at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will try to post more about my background in the future, but I have been at Washington University for over 20 years. I run the Career Center, work with the Office of International Students and Scholars, advise pre-law students, and teach a freshmen course.
I have four children, a high school senior and a sophomore, a seventh grader and a first grader. As I started looking at colleges with my oldest, I saw a few people with blogs like this and really liked them.
I have had a few jobs over the years – lawyer at a big firm, Dean of Students at the law school, and others; but, working with the undergrads at Wash. U. has been my favorite. Helping our bright and motivated students discover their place in the world, to helping them turn their passion into a purpose is one of the best feelings in the world.
Again, thanks for reading my blog and don’t be shy about letting me know how I can help you, your child or Washington University.
